Taste New York Vending Machines Make Highway Rest Area Debut

ALBANY, NY -- The first two "Taste New York" vending machines are now operating at rest areas in Broome and Saratoga counties. The machines feature and promote agricultural items produced and processed in New York, including Heluva Good string cheese, North Fork Potato Chips, Adirondack Beverages and Saratoga Water.

The Taste New York vending machine program is a joint venture that includes the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, New York State Commission for the Blind and New York State Department of Transportation. One of the inaugural rest stop machines is at the Clifton Park facility on Interstate 87. The other is at the Broome Gateway rest area on Interstate 81 between the Pennsylvania state line and exit 1.

Taste New York machines are also up and running at the state Capitol and Legislative Office Building.
