Suzo-Happ Acquires Scan Coin Broadening Cash-Processing Offerings For Vending And Coin-Op

MT. PROSPECT, IL -- Suzo-Happ reports that it has acquired Scan Coin, a manufacturer of coin- and banknote-processing equipment. Suzo-Happ chairman James Brendel said Scan Coin is the company's fourth cash-handling technology acquisition in the past 15 months.

Financing for the Scan Coin acquisition was provided by Cerberus Business Finance LLC and PNC Bank. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Suzo-Happ previously acquired the Commesterogroup and two lines from Crane Co., which included Crane's bill and coin recycler products for European marketplaces. | SEE STORY

Scan Coin's Intelligent Coin Processing lineup is said to provide the highest throughput per shift in the cash center industry. The company's retail cash solutions are fully automated by means of integrated software to handle till management and cash office processing, thus enabling retailers to achieve substantial labor efficiencies and reduce shrinkage.

Founded in 1966 in Malmö, Sweden, Scan Coin is a leading supplier of cash-processing equipment and solutions. Its customer base is served through a network of Scan Coin companies and distribution partners in more than 100 countries. Its U.S. office is located in Ashburn, VA.
