Sugar Foods CEO Donald Tober dies in apparent suicide

Donald Tober, CEO and co-owner of Sugar Foods Corp., leapt to his death from his Park Avenue apartment in New York City on Jan. 15, according to a New York Post report. The 89-year-old Tober was struggling with Parkinson's disease, according to sources.

Tober served as chairman of the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association, president and trustee Emeritus of the Culinary Institute of America, and board member of the Educational Foundation of the National Restaurant Association, according to the IFMA.

Sugar Foods manufactures sweeteners, snacks, condiments and other foodservice products for the vending, foodservice and retail industries.

Tober is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara.
