SEATTLE -- Starbucks Corp. has appointed Kevin Johnson president and chief operating officer.
Johnson has been a Starbucks board member since 2009 and was chief executive of Juniper Networks from 2008 to 2013. Prior to that, he served as a divisional president at Microsoft Corp.
Johnson will replace Troy Alstead, a 23-year Starbucks veteran, who announced plans to take a yearlong sabbatical earlier this month.
