Sprinkles Cupcakes, a company that sells cupcakes out of cupcake ATMs, has shut down after 20 years in business. The business has removed all products from its website and shut down all locations, according to a report by WBAL.

Candace Nelson first began Sprinkles Cupcakes in 2005 before selling it to private equity firm KarpReilly LLC in 2012.

"Even though I sold the company over a decade ago, I still have such a personal connection to it, and this isn't how I thought the story would go," Nelson said in the report.

KarpReilly has not made any statements as to the reason behind the closure.
