MALVERN, PA -- USA Technologies said Southern Refreshment Services is increasing deployment of its services to 1,000 additional vending locations and to micromarkets. The agreement builds on a 10-year relationship between the two companies.

Tucker, GA-based Southern Refreshment will reportedly use USAT's turnkey ePort and ePort Connect cashless payment and telemetry products and services for its traditional vending to enable acceptance of credit, debit and mobile payments including Apple Pay. The cashless payment technology will also power its 365 Retail micromarkets and point-of-sale kiosks.

In addition, for its office coffee services and direct store deliveries, the vending company will use USAT's ePort Mobile and ePort Online solutions to integrate payments across business segments.

Through the expanded agreement, Southern Refreshment will reportedly upgrade 500 ePort Edge devices to NFC-capable ePort G9s and install an additional 100 of them in micromarkets, cafeterias, OCS and back-office billing applications for catering, bulk orders and delivery services.

In addition, USAT said Southern Refreshment will implement USAT's More customer engagement and loyalty program in its micromarkets. The program is designed to incentivize, reward and retain consumers through proactive marketing and awareness campaigns.

USAT said Southern Refreshment Services has one of the largest installed bases of micromarkets, vending and office coffee services, serving almost half a million people daily.
