Hollar was a United States Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. He was then employed by Pitney Bowes for 25 years. CHARLOTTE, NC -- Joe C. Hollar, a 40-year veteran of the vending industry, died on Aug. 19. He was 86.
Hollar was a United States Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954.
He was then employed by Pitney Bowes for 25 years. In 1980, he founded Southeastern Vending Service, an equipment distributor and service center based in Charlotte, NC, and Atlanta, GA, where he worked until his death.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Annette Hedrick Hollar; son Joe Jr. and wife Marilyne; son Jon and wife Susan; son Jason and wife Jill; brother Brice; sister Barbara Hollar White; brother-in-law Elbert Pope; grandchildren Megan, Julian, Isabelle, Zachary, Evan, Blake, Davis, Claire and Lauren Hollar; and great-grandchildren Whitton, Campbell, Margot and Laney.
A memorial service to celebrate Hollar's life will be held on Thursday, Aug. 23 at 3 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Conover, NC.
