Snapchat has partnered with L'Oréal's ELVIVE Colour Protect haircare range to launch an augmented reality-powered beauty vending machine in London, according to a Channel X report.
From April 11th to 13th, consumers in West London will have the opportunity to visit an AR-powered beauty vending machine at the Westfield Shopping Centre in White City. By using a custom gamified Snapchat Lens, participants can play a game to "lock in" their hair color and "unlock" a free refill of L'Oréal's Elvive Colour Protect Shampoo.
The campaign aims to encourage a shift in consumer behavior within the haircare category by highlighting the benefits of refilling existing shampoo bottles. L'Oréal is leveraging Snapchat's AR capabilities, noting that 81% of Snapchat users find AR a fun way to learn about new products and are more likely to use it to invite others to shop.
This initiative is part of a broader marketing campaign running from March 26th to April 22nd across various media channels, including television, out-of-home advertising, digital platforms and social media.
