Smart fridge startup plans nationwide expansion

Mama Gaia, a healthy vending machine startup, offers a smart fridge and provides an app that allows customers to gain access to the machine, check inventory and provide feedback, according to a press release.

The company, launched in 2018 by Sarah Lynch, aims to roll out 100 vending fridge units across the U.S. to help local food producers get their products in front of consumers more effectively.

Using data and profits from the company's initial controlled expansion in Los Angeles, Lynch plans to launch a franchised nationwide rollout that deploys tens of thousands of units across the country that delivers the ultimate goal of making healthy food options convenient.
