DES MOINES, IA --
Smart Industries reports that it is shipping the new Magic Coin game previewed at last fall's Amusement Expo. The production model attracted attention at the recent International Bowl Expo in Las Vegas.
Smart's new 45" Ticket Ring game, which made its debut at last fall's International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions Expo, also is now shipping and was highlighted at Smart's Bowl Expo booth.
Magic Coin holds as many as 1,250 prize-filled "egg" capsules of the sort long popular in bulk vending. These contain attractive toy and novelty items, and a few can include a surprise bonus: a Magic Coin/Token that provides access to one of five large prize compartments. The game, as shipped, is set for "winner every time" play at a $1 price. Play style and price are operator-adjustable.
Magic Coin accommodates a small claw, sized to hold one egg, and is supplied with a single coin mech (mounted to the right of the player's console) as well as an RFID Coin/Token reader and five Magic Coin/Tokens equipped with RFID transceivers that can be scanned by the reader. The cabinet is engineered with a small prize door, through which the player retrieves the captured egg, and five prize doors below the console that display large prizes.
The prize doors give access to prize boxes (three on the left side, each measuring 6" wide x 6-1/2" tall x 14-1/2" deep and two taller ones on the right side with dimensions of 6" wide x 9-3/4" tall x 14-1/2" deep.) The doors are numbered 1 through 5.
Each of the five RFID Magic Coin/Tokens supplied with the game is numbered too, so each token unlocks the door with the corresponding number.
In operation, the patron inserts the play price and maneuvers the crane to pick up the desired egg, then extracts it through the small prize door on the left side of the cabinet. The player pockets his or her prize.
The lucky winner of a bonus Magic Coin/Token inserts it into the RFID coin/token reader. This device scans the smart token to unlock the corresponding large-prize door, enabling the player to retrieve the prize.
Magic Coin stands 75-1/4" tall and measures 31-1/2" wide x 32" deep. It can hold as many as 1250 prize-filled eggs. It is bill-validator-ready, and a Canadian version offers a $1 and $2 (looney-twoney) coin mechanism.
The Ticket Ring game features eye-catching LED front frame illumination, available in a choice of colors to complement location decor. Patrons play the 45" crane to win novel "rings," made to resemble strips of tickets formed into shallow cylinders. These come in a range of values. At the redemption counter, the tickets are credited to the player; in card-based locations, the value is transferred to the player's card. In either case, redeemed ticket rings are recycled back into the game.
Ticket Ring measures 45" wide x 75-1/4" tall. It is offered in two models, a standard 32" deep and a jumbo 44" deep, and is shipped in "play till you win" mode. The play mode is selectable by means of a DIP switch. An Imonex coin mechanism is standard; bill validators with stackers are available for U.S. and Canadian banknotes, and offered for the Canadian market. Also available are large or small claw assemblies and a 220-VAC transformer. The game can be had with custom graphics, and is said to be legal in California.
Both new games feature four-way joysticks and independent locking coinboxes, durable Lexan front panels and tempered safety glass construction as well as interactive sound systems and 7-segment LED credit/timer displays. Designed for security, both are fitted with steel security padlock tabs on console and front glass door. The cabinets are tamper-resistant and coat-hanger proof.
Smart Industries manufactures a range of skill and oversized cranes, self-merchandisers and sports games, crane kits and redemption games as well as an extensive line of prize merchandise.
