Singapore residents who receive a COVID-19 health risk warning or alert via SMS will be able to collect antigen rapid test kits at vending machines the government has installed, according to a channelnewsasia report. The government is covering the full cost of the kits.
The kits will be available at 56 locations, the Ministry of Health said Friday.
A health risk warning is sent to those identified as having had close contact with someone who has COVID-19. They are required to get a polymerase chain reaction at clinics and self isolate until they get a negative result. They also must swab themselves using the self-test kits on the third, fifth and seventh day from the last date of exposure to the COVID-19 case. A second PCR test is required on or after the eighth day.
A health risk alert is sent to those whose "SafeEntry" records overlap with a COVID-19 case. Such persons need to get ART tests on the third and fifth day from the last COVID-19 exposure date.
