Shekel Brainweigh Ltd., a provider of weighing technology, is teaming up with Parlevel Systems, a software provider, and Imbera, a provider of commercial refrigeration equipment, to introduce hubz, a cooler that offers a secure way to sell any product, anywhere and anytime, according to a press release.
The hubz cooler is an unattended retail point of sale that empowers operators to maximize product offerings in a variety of locations. It can only be opened when a customer presents a payment method. Powered by product aware technology, an array of IoT load sensors, machine learning algorithms and management tools, the solution detects exactly which product customers select and charges them as they close the cooler.
While the hubz cooler is open, customers can browse products, select multiple products, and put back previously selected SKUs. Customers are informed of their selections in real time via an interactive touchscreen, charged the corresponding amount, and provided with a receipt.
Businesses can manage their hubz hardware side-by-side with traditional vending machines, micro markets and office coffee business lines.
"The hubz cooler balances high tech with easy accessibility at a price point that makes the business proposition very attractive to many different organizations," Luis P Gonzalez, Parlevel Systems CEO, said in the release.
"The hubz cooler utilizes Shekel Brainweigh's product aware technology, providing unprecedented accurate product recognition, enabling real time frictionless shopping experience, and encouraging a flexible variety of product mix," Udi Wiesner, general manager of the retail innovation division at Shekel Brainweigh, said in the release.
The solution has been awarded Intel Market Ready Solution recognition as part of Intel IoT Solutions Alliance.
