WAARDENBURG, Netherlands -- Selecta's vending business in the Netherlands has upgraded to a mobile service solution provided by Zetes, a Belgian company.
Selecta's Netherlands operations are part of Selecta Group, the largest European vending operation, with more than 4,500 employees who service about 140,000 vending machines in 21 countries. The Dutch branch in Waardenburg has approximately 250 employees and more than 25,000 machines, according to the company.
Zetes's cloud-based MCL Mobility Platform allows Selecta to develop, deploy and manage mobile applications centrally, regardless of operating system. The apps can run on both industrial mobile equipment and consumer electronics like smartphones and tablets. Zetes also offers a range of custom Selecta apps, including one that provides spare parts lists in PDF format, which drivers and technicians can consult when visiting clients.
"As our employees carry out different types of work, we have implemented the new mobility solution on a per role basis," said Selecta IT manager Dennis Straathof. "This all seems a very straightforward solution, however in practice, it has an effect on all personal applications such as phone calls, email, messaging, calendar, contacts and verifying information en route."
