Selecta Group lifts Q1 2023 sales on European recovery

Selecta Group, a Switzerland-based route service provider of convenience services in Europe, reported a 11.7% sales gain to €309.1 million ($336.03 million), driven by recovery in the private sector, along with strong public sector performance supported by strong commercial initiatives, according to a press release.

Sales per machine per day rose 30.5% over the prior year period to a record high of €12.5 ($13.59).

Selecta's sales from its Foodtech fresh food solutions increased by 46.6%. The company experienced strong growth of fresh food solutions in cooperation with local retailers, reporting 65 installations of Coop to Go in Switzerland, more than 50 with Delhaize in Belgium and more than 135 with Albert Heijn in Holland.

"Despite the challenging economic environment, we delivered a strong start to 2023 by keeping client needs at the core of our business and maintaining cost discipline," CEO Christian Schmitz said in the press release. "We continue to focus on our Foodtech offering to meet the changing needs of today's workforce and see strong growth in these modern solutions."
