Steve Chesney, founder and CEO of Seaga Manufacturing Inc., will step down as CEO of Seaga/AMS and will remain chairman of the board of the company and its subsidiaries, according to a press release.
The board named Mike Freund to replace Chesney as CEO of Seaga/AMS.
Chesney founded Seaga in 1987 in Shannon, Illinois. He produced and marketed a vending machine design named the SuperVend 2000.
After manufacturing thousands of machines in Shannon, Chesney moved the headquarters and manufacturing facility to Freeport, Illinois, where it remains today.
In 2004, Seaga acquired Karna Industries in New Delhi India, now known as Seaga India Private Ltd.
Seaga recently acquired Automated Merchandising Systems, a brand of automatic retail dispensing equipment in North America, providing Seaga a total four manufacturing facilities in three countries.
"I want to thank Steve for his vision to create and build a company with a lasting legacy that will prosper and excel within our marketplace," Gary Partridge, president of Seaga, said in the press release.
