A school in Alberta, Canada has sued the Coca-Cola Company for damages caused by a fire that started in one of its vending machines, according to an Edmonton Journal report. The St. Paul School is seeking more than $750,000 in damages against Coca Cola, five subsidiaries, two vending operating companies and the Vendo Company in a suit filed Alberta's Court of Queen's Bench.
The school said it paid experts $20,000 to determine the fire's cause, and claims the fire occurred in a vending machine which caused fire and smoke damage to the school. The school was forced to move to a community hall while repairs were made.
The school claims the machine was made with a faulty refrigeration compressor.
