Russia seizes Danone unit and Carlsberg brewery

Russia has seized control of Danone's Russian operating unit as well as Baltika, a Carlsberg owned brewery, according to a Seeking Alpha report.

Russian president Vladimir Putin signed a decree Sunday placing foreign owned shares of the companies under the control of Rosimushchestvo, a Russian property agency.

Danone said in a prepared statement it will take measures to protect its shareholders' rights and the continuity of its operations.
