iCream, a soft-serve vending machine that produces 25 flavor combinations of freshly made ice cream, has made its debut at the Westfield Century City mall in Los Angeles, and will expand to several other southern California mall locations in the coming days and weeks, according to a press release.
The fully encapsulated machine serves ice cream and toppings with a robotic conveyor arm and accepts debit cards, credit cards and payment apps.
Prices run from $3 for a cup of plain vanilla. Toppings are 25 cents each and can reach $4.50 for add-ons such as Oreo cookies, M&Ms, mixed nuts, hard chocolate shell, strawberry and caramel sauce.
Guests make their selections from a touchscreen, then watch through the glass as the robotic arm creates their soft-serve treat and delivers it through a small opening at the front of the machine in less than a minute.
The machine will also be installed at Westfield Culver City, Westfield Santa Anita Mall, Westfield University Town Center, Westfield Plaza Bonita, Westfield Topanga Mall, Ontario Mills, Del Amo Fashion Center and The Shops in Mission Viejo.
