Roberto Marques To Lead Mondelezs North American Operations

DEERFIELD, IL -- Packaged food veteran Roberto Marques is joining Mondelez International Inc. as executive vice-president and president for the North American market. He will report to chairman and chief executive Irene Rosenfeld, and work out of Mondelez's East Hanover, NJ, office.

Marques, 49, will lead the company's $7 billion business in the U.S. and Canada, which includes Oreo, belVita, Wheat Thins and Trident, among dozens of other brands. He succeeds Mark Clouse, who became the company's chief growth officer last year.

Marques comes from Johnson & Johnson, where he most recently served as chairman for its $6 billion North American business.
