NEW YORK CITY -- A robbery crew has been targeting bulk vending machines in locations throughout New York City's boroughs.
According to sources, the thieves run counter to the typically desperate and bungling criminals well known to bulk vending operators. This alleged crew, sources say, is highly organized and professional. Members brazenly identify themselves to location management as the vending company's service personnel prior to removing the machines, saying they will be back with replacements, then drive off.
In at least one instance, the thieves were reportedly wearing shirts with a vending company name and logo.
