Richmond County Emergency Medical Services has launched a vending machine pharmacy system to improve medication management, according to a News on the Neck report. The department has invested in a secure vending machine that utilizes access codes to dispense medications and supplies.
"This new system will streamline our operations and ensure patient safety," Mitch Paulette, chief of Richmond County EMS, told the news outlet. "By having our own pharmacy, we can better control medication inventory and access."
While the transition to an in-house pharmacy has required significant investment, Paulette believes the benefits outweigh the costs. The department is confident that the system will improve efficiency and provide better patient care.
