Restored arcade to open in Oregon

Gizmo's Arcade & Eatery, a gaming center with food, beer and cider at Commercial and 11th streets in Astoria, Oregon, will reopen in June under the ownership of Andrea and Galen McDermed, according to a report in The Astorian.

The Arc Arcade that previously occupied the spot closed in 2017.

The new arcade will use tokens to operate machines rather than card readers, and will offer prizes in plastic capsules.

The McDermeds will install an 85-inch television in the back for Nintendo Switch console gaming rentals in a faux wood-paneled corner, in addition to board games.
