Rekbot selects Arbor's smart controller to power smart deposit-refund vending machines in Poland

Rekbot, a manufacturer of reverse vending machines, has partnered with industrial computing specialist Arbor Technology to power its "smart deposit-refund" vending machines in Poland, according to a press release. The collaboration aims to accelerate the deployment of the machines ahead of a nationwide deposit return system launching in 2026.

Rekbot selected Arbor's SB-244-1N97, a compact controller that simplifies hardware integrations and cable routing. ARBOR also provided an externally accessible 4G SIM card slot, which will reduce maintenance costs and downtime.

"Time-to-market was our biggest concern," representative from Rekbot said in the release. "We needed a reliable partner who understood the complexities of our system, from integrating multiple peripherals to simplifying cable management. Arbor's solution was the perfect fit."

The partnership was initiated by Maritex, Arbor's distributor in Poland. The new policy is expected to increase demand for reverse vending machines as consumers return beverage containers for a refund.
