Redbox Promotes Matt James To Run Operations And Merchandising

James will lead a team of more than 1,400 Redbox field operations employees. His team oversees inventory stocking and optimization, title merchandising, kiosk repair and preventive maintenance.

Redbox's machine network generated rentals of two million DVD, Blu-ray disc and videogames every day in 2014. At the end of the first half of this year, it reportedly had more than 40,000 Redbox kiosks operating at some 34,000 retail locations nationwide.

"Over his past four years at Redbox, Matt has excelled at several leadership roles and we look forward to leveraging his diverse experience to constantly improve the customer experience," said Redbox president Mark Horak. "When you're operating at the incredible scale Redbox does, it takes a highly effective leader like Matt and a passionate team to make the systems run like a well-oiled machine."

Before moving into his current position, James was vice-president of inventory and logistics for Redbox.
