Redbox Names Ash Eldifrawi Chief Marketing Officer

CHICAGO -- Redbox, a unit of Outerwall Inc., said it has appointed Ash Eldifrawi chief marketing and customer experience officer. Redbox operates kiosks that automate the rental of movies and videogames on DVD, Blu-ray and other media.

Eldifrawi has two decades of senior-level marketing experience in the fields of e-commerce, telecommunications and consumer packaged goods. Most recently, he was chief commercial officer at Gogo. Prior to that, he was chief marketing officer at Hayneedle and brand advertising director for Google.

Redbox says it operates 40,000 movie and videogame rental vending machines. In 2013, Redbox reportedly had a 48% market share of the physical movie rental market in the U.S.
