CORONA, CA -- AVT Inc. said it designed a vending machine that dispensed a bag of rainbow-colored Doritos in exchange for a $10 minimum donation to It Gets Better Project. AVT's machine stocked with limited-edition Doritos Rainbows was a big part of the recent Dallas Pride event.

Held Sept. 20, Dallas Pride put on a parade and other festivities to promote a positive image of Texas's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities. This year's celebration benefited the It Gets Better Project, whose mission is to inspire hope for young LGBT people facing harassment.

AVT reported that thousands of Doritos Rainbows bags were snatched up in less than 24 hours. According to Frito-Lay, all 10,000 bags of the colorful Doritos have been sold and no more will be produced this year. The promotion netted $100,000 for It Gets Better Project, which will receive 100% of the receipts.

San Francisco-based Goodby Silverstein & Partners is the advertising agency behind the campaign. It worked with PepsiCo's Frito-Lay team to make rainbow Doritos a reality. Corona, CA-based AVT developed the vending machine for the agency.
