A Rhode Island nail salon owner has launched a press-on nail vending machine inside the Providence Place Mall, according to a report by The Enterprise.
The vending machine features different sets of specialty hand-painted press-on nails, including rhinestone-encrusted nails to simpler, colorful sets, starting at $35 a set. Verdia Joslyn is the owner of Kiss Her Boutique in Randolph and added the nail vending machine to her business model as a low-maintenance way to expand her business.
Joslyn first began her vending machine venture by contacting local malls to see who would be willing to host the machine, and initially received a lot of 'no's.' Once she received approval from the leasing team at the Providence Place Mall, Joslyn ordered a vending machine from Alibaba and began designing the outside of the machine herself, a part of the work she especially enjoys.
"My favorite part about doing nails is being able to get creative and show my art on people's nails. When I first started doing nails, I always thought about ways to branch off and it's always been my dream to sell press-on nails," Joslyn told the news outlet.
The vending machine has 15 press-on nail designs to choose from and is located on the lower level of the Providence Place Mall.
