FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- PrimeTime Amusements' newest family entertainment center boasts 95,000 square feet and an arcade gameroom with 100-plus pieces. Xtreme Action Park, owned and managed by PrimeTime's David Goldfarb and Fiik Electric Skateboards' Aaron Parkinson, reopened here in late June after a yearlong renovation.

The owners claim that the new Xtreme Action Park is the largest indoor entertainment complex in south Florida. Even more, the amusement pros at PrimeTime say they plan to make it the largest FEC in the country within the next two years, and there's enough nearby space to do this.

In addition to classic arcade games, attractions include an 11-ft. high ropes course with 13 landing stations; 10 boutique bowling lanes; a 5,200-sq.ft. special events ballroom; a sports bar with 60 TVs and projection screens; and a Hershey's Shake Shoppe.

Xtreme Action Park's go-kart racetrack, south Florida's longest, features a new asphalt surface that hosts a fleet of gas-powered Bowman Arrows that can reach speeds up to 45 mph. The 48,000-sq.ft. go-kart area, enclosed by walls painted with murals of south Florida's landmarks, also has new SMS-Timing software and indoor GPS.

Xtreme Action Park doesn't charge admission fees. Rather, visitors pay for races, bowling, ropes and arcade games separately by using Sacoa's cashless Playcard system.

The new Xtreme Action Park is located at 5300 Powerline Rd., and can be seen from I-95 at the Commercial Blvd. exit.
