ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attraction has selected Plopsa Group chief executive Steve Van den Kerkhof as the keynote speaker for its GM and Owners' Breakfast at this year's Attractions Expo. The exposition takes place Nov. 14-18 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL; the GM's breakfast takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 8:15 a.m. in the IAAPA Theater.

"We are honored to have someone with the experience and reputation of Mr. Van den Kerkhof address senior attractions industry executives from around the world," said IAAPA vice-president of education Rebecca Turner.

Van den Kerkhof has led Plopsa Group for more than 17 years. He cofounded the theme park division when Studio 100 bought its first site in 1999. Under his direction, the theme park group was able to grow amid price competition and economic crises. Today, it owns and operates six facilities in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, which together attract more than three million visitors annually.

In addition to Van den Kerkhof's keynote, the morning event will host IAAPA's Service Awards presentation.

The five day conference and four-day tradeshow is expected to draw more than 30,000 visitors and some 1,000 exhibitors. Information about registration for the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2016 and the GM and Owners' Breakfast is available at IAAPA.org/IAAPAAttractionsExpo.
