Planters reintroduces Special Reserve peanuts for National Nut Day

The Planters brand is marking National Nut Day with the return of its limited-edition Special Reserve peanuts, according to a press release.
Originally launched last holiday season, Planters Special Reserve peanuts are grown on a small acreage in Virginia and are larger than standard varieties, with their natural red skins intact. The premium peanuts are available beginning Oct. 22 at select Albertsons stores and on Amazon for a suggested retail price of $8.99.
"Planters Special Reserve has been years in the making," Kate Coombs, brand manager for the Planters brand, said in the release. "From the growing conditions to the roasting process, every detail was curated with our fans in mind. The reaction last year was overwhelming, and Special Reserve proved to be a top holiday gifting item, so we're excited to bring it back."
The limited-edition peanuts come in 13-ounce aluminum containers and are available while supplies last.
