Pine Level Elementary School in Pine Level, Alabama recently unveiled a book vending machine to encourage students to become avid readers, according to a WSFA report. The coin-operated machine, part of the school's Accelerated Reader initiative, offers a variety of books to students.
"I think anytime you can make reading a quote-unquote cool activity, that's what we have to do districtwide," Autauga County Schools Superintendent Lyman Woodfin told the news outlet. "It's a really neat idea. Hope it encourages kids to read and continues our academic growth across the county."
This is the second book vending machine in the district, with the first one located at Prattville Elementary School.
