NextPlat's PharmcoRx subsidiary plans to install VendRx prescription-dispensing kiosks at select clinics and health care facilities, allowing patients to collect medications after appointments and consultations with a PharmcoRx pharmacist. Initial installations are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, with a broader rollout expected in 2027, according to a press release.
The company said the kiosks could reduce the need for separate pharmacy trips and help address medication access challenges associated with pharmacy closures. PharmcoRx expects the program to expand its clinic partnerships and prescription business while allowing participating providers to offer on-site dispensing without building a pharmacy or adding staff.
VendRx reported more than 90,000 prescription dispenses across its platform since inception, with no wrong-medication releases reported through Oct. 19, according to its internal records. Birute Norkute, PharmcoRx's vice president of health care operations, said the initiative would combine automated dispensing with pharmacist support to improve convenience and potentially help patients follow prescribed treatments.
