new Diet PepsiPURCHASE, NY -- PepsiCo has rolled out its latest formulation of Diet Pepsi to retailers nationwide. The new version of the longtime low-calorie soft drink is sweetened with a blend of sucralose and acesulfame potassium (Ace K) rather than aspartame, and accordingly is labeled "now aspartame-free." In addition to the straight diet version, it's available in caffeine-free diet and wild cherry variants.

"Diet cola drinkers in the U.S. told us they wanted aspartame-free Diet Pepsi, and we're delivering," said Seth Kaufman, PepsiCo North America Beverages senior vice-president, Pepsi and flavors portfolio. "We recognize that consumer demand is evolving, and we're confident cola-lovers will enjoy the crisp, light taste of this new product."

An integrated marketing effort was launched on Aug. 10 to encourage consumers to taste the new diet cola variations through sampling, advertising, coupons, retail promotions and social media activations.
