A Pepsi branded vending machine advertising the 1999 Star Wars movie, "Phantom Menace," has become an attraction for movie fans and curiosity seekers in Pittsburgh, according to a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report. People stop by the machine near the intersection of Shiloh Street and Virginia Avenue to take pictures with the machine every weekend.
The machine, which still takes quarters but not dollar bills, is no longer owned or serviced by the Pepsi organization, nor does it serve Pepsi beverages. The fire station next door to the machine has been servicing it since Pepsi opted not to repair it, stocking it with Faygo beverages priced at 50 cents.
