PAX Technology introduces unattended payment device for QR codes

PAX Technology, a provider of electronic payment solutions, has introduced its IM10, an unattended payment device that supports the use of QR codes and contactless payments in any touchless environment, according to a press release.

The IM10 QR code scanner ergonomically placed below the display screen with integrated NFC contactless reader acts as a standalone payment device and can integrate into kiosks and vending machines.

The design supports either a full integration via POS or semi-integration payment processing model. The in-device semi-integrated payment application supports point-to point encryption and is EMV level 3 certified with U.S. processors.

While NFC contactless payments have grown in acceptance and usage, QR codes are still emerging within the North American market, according to the press release. QR codes give customers the full advantage and convenience of combining their loyalty app as well as their payment method in one platform.
