WASHINGTON -- Hershey Co., Coca-Cola Co., General Mills and PepsiCo are among 81 companies that have signed a White House pledge to support action to reduce climate change.

The White House last month announced the American Business Act on Climate Pledge and released a list of the companies that have signed on ahead of a new round of global climate change negotiations, taking place Paris in early December. The signers represent some of the nation's largest companies and most well known brands.

As part of the pledge, each signer offered to voice their support for a "strong" outcome in the Paris climate change negotiations.

In addition, each company offered their own specific goals to reduce their carbon footprint. Companies get to pick the baseline year from which they will make reductions, and decide for themselves whether they will cut 5%, 10%, 20% or 50%, and by when.
