Oshkosh Express Laundry Center hosts free laundry, early literacy day

The Oshkosh Express Laundry Center partnered with the LaundryCares Foundation and Girbau North America to host a Free Laundry & Early Literacy Day for the Oshkosh, Wisconsin community on June 11, according to a press release. The event provided free laundry services, lunch and activities for children and adults.

Over 50 volunteers helped serve 88 families and wash over 8,200 pounds of laundry. Children received more than 200 free books. The LaundryCares Foundation also provided access to a free digital library.

The day also included the ribbon cutting of the laundry's new Read, Play & Learn space, a child-friendly area promoting early literacy. This space is a result of collaboration between the LaundryCares Foundation and Too Small to Fail, who are working together to support early language development.
