NxLite has secured $9.2 million in Series A funding to scale production of its proprietary low-emissivity and solar-control coatings for glass, acrylic and polycarbonate applications, according to a press release.

The round was led by Crabtree Lane Alt LLC with participation from Earth Foundry, MUUS, New Climate Ventures and ACT Venture Partners. NxLite will use the capital to expand operations at its Michigan-based Advanced Innovation & Manufacturing Center and accelerate commercialization.

NxLite's air-stable coatings improve thermal performance for applications ranging from residential windows to commercial refrigeration doors and transportation glazing. "We have the chance to redefine energy efficiency and operating costs in every transparent application," David Mather, NxLite chairman and CEO, said in the press release. "We are seeing significant interest with our customers in the vending, beverage cooler, automotive and transportation industries."
