Noodle vending machine launches in South Korea

April 16, 2024

In a move to expand its unmanned vending machine business, South Korean food company Pulmuone has launched the Robot Chef Chulchul Box. Developed in partnership with Yo-Kai Express, the machine dispenses hot, gourmet meals in approximately 90 seconds, according to a Petrol Plaza report.

Building on Pulmuone's existing success with unmanned vending machines in the U.S., the Robot Chef Chulchul Box will initially offer six menu options: three noodle dishes and three rice dishes, all featuring Pulmuone ingredients. The machine features a touchscreen menu and an automated cooking chamber that dispenses meals and cutlery.

"As consumers seek healthy meals on the go, Pulmuone is thrilled to launch this first-of-its-kind autonomous meal solution," Sung Yoon Nam, Pulmuone's vice president of sales, told the news outlet. "Our partnership with Yo-Kai Express allows us to bring our quality products to consumers worldwide, all available in seconds at the push of a button."

The Robot Chef Chulchul Box will be deployed in South Korea beginning in October, with placements planned for corporate facilities and universities.
