ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - The New Jersey Amusement Association's 24th annual East Coast Gift & Variety Show opens today at the Golden Nugget hotel, casino and marina here.

Described as "The trade show to keep you connected to the amusement industry in the tri-state area," the 24th annual East Coast Gift & Variety Show will be held in conjunction with a business program designed to bring industry members up to date on current topics of interest. Once again, it will co-locate with the regionalized seminar presented by the National Association of Amusement Ride Safety Officals. This will mark the 11th year of the NAARSO event.

On Wednesday, the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs will conduct an annual ride regulations briefing, in conjunction with a panel discussion. Topics will include the RCMT (Recognized Certified Maintenance Technicians) program and other issues. Community affairs department supervisor of enforcement Paul Lamberti will attend the meeting, and a question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.

The exhibit opened at 11 a.m., followed by a round-table discussion at noon with the NJAA Scholarship cocktail party to follow from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The association's board of directors will meet at 2 p.m.

On Thursday, a morning business session will be led by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs' Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission. In attendance will be investigators Paul Johnson and Joe Chessere. A question-and-answer session will follow.

The exhibit will reopen at 10 a.m. and close at 3 p.m.

The registration fee for the trade show is $60 per person. Click here to register online.
