Convenience service operators in New York State are endorsing a bill to extend the state sales tax exemption to $3 for products sold in vending machines, according to the National Automatic Merchandising Association weekly legislative roundup.
The current exemption, which exempts products up to $2, is scheduled to expire at the end of May.
NAMA and the New York State Automatic Vending Association are encouraging members to support S.4144A introduced in the New York Senate to preserve and expand the sales tax exemption.
Operators interested in supporting the bill can use a form letter to send to their New York state senator by clicking here.
