The New York State Department of Health has updated its interim guidance to clarify the safe use of vending machines and communal coffee stations in reopened businesses under phases two and three of the Governor's reopening plan, according to the National Automatic Merchandising Association.
NAMA, working in partnership with the New York State Automatic Vending Association and its legislative consultant, has been working with the governor's office to clarify the interim guidance because it created confusion and unintentionally suggested the closure of vending locations and coffee stations, according to a press release.
The updated guidance reflects NAMA's suggested changes to urge limited occupancy of breakrooms and non-essential communal areas to promote social distancing and clarifies the safe use of vending machines with regular sanitization of machines in offices, commercial spaces and auto dealerships.
The office has released guidance documents for office based work, commercial building management and auto dealerships.
