New York state lawmakers have reintroduced two bills that will increase the cost of sugary beverages, according to the National Automatic Merchandising Association weekly legislative report.
Assembly Bill A5107A will impose an excise tax on sugary drinks.
Assembly BillA685A will require safety warning labels on beverages containing 100% or more of the FDA-recommended daily added sugar intake.
NAMA has opposed the measures.
