The Watertown City School District in New York has installed a hygiene vending machine at Watertown High School. The project was spearheaded by a junior Watertown student, Connor Brown, according to a Newzjunky report.

Over the past eight months, Brown has worked with local and school officials to bring this vending machine project to fruition. Brown saw an opportunity to provide essential hygiene products in a convenient and discreet manner to students who may be less fortunate.

Planned Parenthood of Jefferson County partnered with Brown to secure materials for the machine at no cost to students and WHS National Honor Society students have volunteered to stock the machine. Brown hopes to expand his initiative by installing similar machines at additional local schools.

"We are immensely proud of Connor Brown's initiative and leadership in spearheading the installation of the hygiene vending machine at Watertown High School," Superintendent Dr. Larry C. Schmiegel told the news outlet. "We look forward to seeing the positive impact of this initiative on our school community."
