New York counties install Narcan vending machine

People in Delaware and Ostego counties in New York can get free Narcan from a vending machine at the Friends of Recovery of Delaware and Otsego Counties Inc. location in Oneonta, according to a wbng.com report.

The machine, paid for by a State Opioid Response grant, is intended to help persons suffering from opioid addition, and is the first such machine in the state.

The machine dispenses one kit per day, said program manager Kyle LaFever, who said his organization was previously giving out one or two kits per week.

LaFever called an organization in Michigan to find out how to get such a machine.
