CHICAGO -- The National Automatic Merchandising Association is expanding its publishing offerings with a new technology blog. Dr. K's Tech Times will feature monthly posts in conjunction with the vending association's "Tech News" monthly.
"Dr. K's Tech Times" is written by Michael L. Kasavana, Ph.D., a NAMA knowledge source partner and industry tech expert. Kasavana is the emeritus NAMA endowed professor at the School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University. He recently retired after nearly four decades as a professor.
Kasavana's expertise and research centered on information technology, electronic commerce and cashless transactions in the hospitality industry. He is the author of six books and is a frequent presenter at industry events. Kasavana was honored as NAMA's Industry Person of the Year in 2011.
"Technology is key in today's business world, and industry-specific technology is growing and developing every day in the vending and refreshment services arena," Kasavana said. "Through this blog my goal is to provide guidance to NAMA members on how to identify and leverage technology to best enhance the consumer experience, generate revenue and streamline operations."
