While a number of health experts have claimed soda taxes help reduce obesity, researchers at Knowable Magazine have completed a study that questions this position.

Researchers reviewed nearly 100 studies that analyzed current taxes in more than 50 countries and conducted their own research on the impact of soda taxes in the U.S. They concluded there is no conclusive evidence soda taxes have reduced how much sugar people consume.

The researchers claim soda taxes alone cannot move consumers to healthier food choices.
