Nestlé plans to lay off 216 employees at its Solon, Ohio, facility, according to a wkyc.com report. The company said the layoff are intended to allow the company to deliver quality products at competitive prices.

A company spokesperson said the company's new facility scheduled to open this year in Williamsburg Township will bring 300 jobs to Ohio.

Nestlé previously announced that 77 workers were expected to be laid off between Dec. 31, 2023 and Aug. 2, 2024.

The company still has more than 3,000 employees in nine Ohio facilities, the spokesperson said.
