Nestlé has installed self-package cereal vending machines at a pair of retailers in Indonesia to encourage consumers to bring their own containers, according to a packagingeurope.com report.

The goal is to reduce disposable packaging.

Customers will be able to access product information at the machines including ingredients, nutritional value and shelf life by scanning a QR code.

Nestlé developed the machines in partnership with Qyos, an Indonesia vending manufacturer, and Algramo, a Chile-based sustainable solutions equipment provider.

The machines offer Nestle's Milo and Koko Krunch cereals.
