GRAND PRAIRIE, TX -- Forecasts for National Entertainment Network Inc.'s auction of surplus equipment are looking optimistic. Said to be among the largest auctions of coin-op equipment in recent memory, the two-day event, which kicked off yesterday, will see redemption machines, bulk venders, cranes, kiddie rides, pins, pool tables, videogames, air hockey and jukes, and other equipment go under the hammer.
The auction is being conducted by American Amusement Auctions and is expected to attract between 100 and 150 in-person buyers at NEN's Grand Prairie, TX, facility. An additional 500 to 600 online participants are projected. Bidding begins again today at 10 a.m.
"The auctioneer tells me this is the largest auction he's done," said NEN's Scott Ausmus. "We probably should have done this years ago, it's freeing up space to make room for new games and machines."
Products for sale have been shipped in from NEN's warehouses across the country to the firm's Texas facility. They include popular, classic and rare. There are no reserves on any of the lots up for sale.
